European Union (EU) was founded in 1951 under the name European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).
The initial purpose of establishing ECSC is to promote economic cooperation between European countries after World War II.
ECSC initially consisted of 6 countries, namely Belgium, France, Italy, Lukemburg, the Netherlands and West Germany.
In 1993, ECSC changed its name to the European Union (EU) and developed into 27 member countries today.
The EU symbol consists of 12 stars symbolizing solidarity, unity, and harmony between member countries.
At present, EU has 24 official languages and 1 working language, namely English.
The European Union has 7 main institutions, including the European Parliament, the European Council, the European Commission, the European Court, the European Central Bank, the European Auditing Agency, and the European Economic and Social Agency.
The European Union has an annual budget of 145 billion euros, which is used to finance social, economic and environmental programs.
