• Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564 in Pisa, Italy.
• His father was a musician and Galileo also studied music while he was young.
• At the age of 17 years, Galileo began studying at Pisa University, studying mathematics and physics.
• Galileo discovered the law of motion which is now known as Galileo's law.
• He also found that different objects will fall at the same speed under the influence of gravity.
• Galileo supports the heliocentric model, which states that the sun is the center of the solar system, not the earth.
• Because of his support for heliocentrics, Galileo was tried and imprisoned by the Roman Catholic Church for the rest of his life.
• Galileo created the first telescope that was able to enlarge objects with a power of 20 times.
