Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564 in Pisa, Italy.
His father was a musician and Galileo also studied music while he was young.
At the age of 17 years, Galileo began studying at Pisa University, studying mathematics and physics.
Galileo discovered the law of motion which is now known as Galileo's law.
He also found that different objects will fall at the same speed under the influence of gravity.
Galileo supports the heliocentric model, which states that the sun is the center of the solar system, not the earth.
Because of his support for heliocentrics, Galileo was tried and imprisoned by the Roman Catholic Church for the rest of his life.
Galileo created the first telescope that was able to enlarge objects with a power of 20 times.
In observing his telescope, he found four major satellites Jupiter, which is now known as the Galilee satellite.
Galileo died on January 8, 1642 in Arcetry, Italy, at the age of 77 years.
