Marie Curie was the first woman to win a doctorate and became a professor at Paris University.
He was born with the name Maria Sklodowska in Warsaw, Poland in 1867.
During her childhood, Marie Curie studied in Polish and Russia.
He married Pierre Curie, a famous physicist, in 1895 and they had two children.
Marie Curie first discovered a new element called Polonium in 1898, along with her husband.
He also found another element called radium in the same year.
Marie Curie won the Nobel Physics award in 1903 together with her husband and Henri Becquerel for their discovery of radiation.
She became the first woman to win the Nobel Award twice, namely in 1903 for physics and in 1911 for chemistry.
Marie Curie also established a radium laboratory in Paris in 1914 to study the nature and use of radiation.
